The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is 38 years of age and, despite keeping himself in the best possible shape, is aware that the day will come when he eventually has to hang up his boots. There are no plans to do that any time soon, though, with Al-Nassr and Portugal being informed of his long-term goals.

According to , Ronaldo has told his club side in Saudi Arabia that he would like to sign a contract extension through to 2027. That deal would allow him to figure for his country at another World Cup finals that will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
